About the Store

When the store first began it was in a small room ½ way down a lane on Foster Street in Perth – this is how it got its original name of Treasure Lane.  When Marilyn took over the store she called it Treasure Lane by the Tay, a representation of the iconic Tay River in Perth.  The store has now expanded and is located right in downtown heritage Perth at 62 Gore St. East.

Marilyn has a great selection of candles, country farmhouse furniture, paintings, signs, clocks, wall art, place mats, coat racks, runners, mirrors, etc.  She also carries many local items in the store!

Come and say hello the next time you are in Perth.  Marilyn and her staff are always welcoming and ready to help you find exactly what you are looking for.

Meet Marilyn

After 31 years of working for Ontario Parks, and living in the Perth area, Marilyn decided to retire and buy her favourite store, Treasure Lane.   A very bubbly and social person, Marilyn loves meeting new people everyday and welcoming them into her beautiful store.  She had always dreamt of having her own business and having her grandchildren work with her, and Treasure Lane by the Tay has enabled that dream to become a reality.

Marilyn has 3 beautiful daughters and 2 son-in-laws who are very supportive.  Any given day you could meet one or maybe more of her many granddaughters in the store, she has 7 or one of her two precious grandsons spending time with Grandma.   Marilyn is also blessed with one of the most awesome husbands – who is frequently found in the background building furniture, remodelling the store, painting or doing whatever needs to be done.

Marilyn will greet you with a warm smile and truly looks forward meeting everyone who comes into her store, whether it is in person, on Facebook or online shopping she is sure to leave you feeling loved.
